A practicing attorney for more than 20 years, Ed has successfully tried several multi-million-dollar cases for doctors and hospitals, defending claims of medical malpractice. He also represents municipalities and school districts on civil rights and zoning claims and claims of general municipal negligence. He has represented counties, hospitals, and individuals in environmental hazards litigation, lead exposure, Legionnaire's Disease, and other environmental contaminations. Ed also represents small to medium-sized businesses in litigation matters regarding contract disputes, commercial litigation, non-compete agreements, failures of performance, filing of liens, unfair competition claims, and other business matters. He recognizes and utilizes avenues of alternative dispute resolution, where appropriate, and has a reputation as a capable negotiator for his clients.

A member of the Maynard team since 1990, Ed became a partner in 1997. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has earned a Martindale-Hubbell ranking of BV from fellow attorneys, indicating exemplary reputation, well-established practice and high professional standards.

After earning his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross, Ed went on to earn his law degree at Albany Law School. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Northeastern New York Subcontractors Association.

Ed writes a monthly column, "The Legal Side," for Success Magazine and has often appeared on WABY Radio speaking on small business matters. He volunteers his time as a catechist for Sacred Heart Church in Castleton-on-Hudson and as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 53 of the Boy Scouts of America.

When he is not practicing law, Ed likes to work on Colonial home restorations and has been featured on Home & Garden Television and in the Albany Times Union. He also writes music and plays blues guitar.
