Maynard Attorneys Prevail in Defending Medical Malpractice Claim

Maynard partner Michael E. Catalinotto, Jr. and associate Adam T. Mandell succeed in defending medical malpractice claim.  The Maynard attorneys successfully obtained judgment in favor of their defendant doctor and hospital on motion for summary judgment.  In the case entitled Helfer v Columbia Memorial Hospital, the plaintiff claimed injuries stemming from the defendants’ alleged failure to administer tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) therapy for treatment of stroke.  Through expert proof, the defendants established prima facie evidence that they did not commit malpractice, and that tPA therapy was contraindicated in this case.  Accordingly, the Court dismissed the lawsuit.
