Anne-Jo joined Maynard, O'Connor, Smith & Catalinotto in 2001 as an associate and became a partner in 2009. She concentrates her practice in the areas of employment, discrimination, personal injury, state administrative defense, professional licensure defense and medical malpractice defense. Anne-Jo is certified for guardianships and is a certified Court Evaluator for Mental Health Law sec. 81.
She is admitted to practice in the State of New York; the Supreme Court of the U.S.; and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
In 1976, Anne-Jo graduated from Niagara University College of Nursing and worked as a Registered Professional Nurse, compiling 25 years of experience in oncology, medical-surgical nursing, emergency department medicine, public health, psychiatry, and substance abuse detoxification and rehabilitation. In 1997, she enrolled in Albany Law School to pursue a law degree.
While attending law school, Anne-Jo was a member of the Albany Law School Moot Court Board and a regional finalist on the Client Counseling Team. She later coached the team to regional victory and national finals, for which she was awarded the Donna-Jo Morse Best Coach Award. Anne-Jo also participated in the American Inns of Court and was a member of the Health Law Appellate Team. For two of her law school years, Anne-Jo was a clerk in the felony unit of the Albany County District Attorney's Office, gaining extensive court, victim advocacy, and motion experience. In 2000, Anne-Jo was named in Who's Who of American Law Students.
Anne-Jo has been a lecturer for many health care entities, colleges, and professional nursing organizations on topics related to preventing licensure claims and legal suits and defensive treatment and documentation.
She is a member of the Albany County, New York State, and American Bar Associations; the New York State Nurses Association; The American Association of Nurse Attorneys; and the New York State Nurse Association Council of Continuing Education.
Anne-Jo has always been active in community service and is a member of the Parsons Family and Child Center Associate Board and serves as a mock trial coach at Voorheesville Central High School and as Village Attorney for the Village of Voorheesville. She also previously served as Counsel to the Village of Voorheesville Planning Commission and Zoning Board. Anne-Jo has also given her time as a religious education instructor in her parish and as a Girl Scout leader.
